Shannon discovered Apple House when she enrolled her son in the Seeds class in 2018. She began teaching the Seeds class (2 year olds) the following year. She graduated from Marian University with a degree in Psychology, and then returned to Marian to complete her certification in elementary education. She taught 10 years at Saint Susanna school, 2nd and 5th grade. In addition to teaching, she also coached for almost 20 years for CYO (Catholic Youth Organization). After teaching, Shannon worked part time for the Indianapolis Zoo. While participating as a parent at Apple House, she quickly realized she still loved teaching and welcomed the opportunity to teach the Seeds class and help facilitate early learning through play and discovery.

Shannon is married to Dan and has one son, PJ. She also has two dogs, Franky and Georgia. She enjoys competing in dog agility with them. Georgia is also a certified therapy dog who has done library visits for five years. She has a passion for animals, conservation and nature, and enjoys sharing that with her students.

For the 2020-21 school year, Shannon will be teaching our Seeds & Dumplings classes.,
